Bailey Family Funeral Homes: Compassion. Integrity. Excellence.
\n \nWe are award-winning, nationally recognized firms led by a family with six generations of funeral-profession experience. This October, the National Funeral Directors Association will welcome us into its Hall of Excellence as a ten-time recipient of the Pursuit of Excellence Award .
\n \nWe operate three funeral homes: B.C. Bailey Funeral Home in Wallingford, Bailey Funeral Home in Plainville, and Carpino & Bailey Funeral Home in Southbury. Our family of services also includes the Cremation Society of New England, which offers simple cremation arranged online, and Connecticut Memorials, which provides markers, monuments, and permanent memorialization.
\n \nWe see ourselves as professionals, not as an industry. We are progressive in how we serve families and remain open to new ideas. At the same time, we hold firm to a professional image because it shows respect to those who turn to us. We believe a meaningful goodbye is where healing begins, and we work hard to give every family a service that is personal, dignified, and within their means. What motivates us most is the wonderful feedback we routinely hear from our families, reflected in our near 100% referral rate. We were the first funeral home in Connecticut to offer a grief therapy dog, and we are home to the state's only Harley hearse.
\n \nThe Role
\nWe are looking for a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer to join our team full-time. You will guide families from the first call through the service and beyond. That includes arrangement conferences, embalming and preparation, directing services, and following all state and federal rules. You will be based at one of our locations and help at the others when needed.
\n \nWe believe high-quality embalming and preparation are an important part of healing. Seeing a loved one at rest, cared for with skill and dignity, helps families say goodbye. We expect our embalmers to take real pride in this work.
\n \nOur dedicated advance planning director meets with families who are planning ahead. This allows our at-need team to give their full attention to the families in front of them.
\n \nThis work asks a lot of you. It includes an on-call rotation (one night a week, splitting every other weekend), evening and weekend services, and time with families on the hardest days of their lives. In return, you will work with a team that takes pride in doing things the right way, and you will have room to grow.
