Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support Must-Have: Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support Description: General information: - Number of Beds: 15 - Patient Ratios: 1:4, 1:5 Unit Staffing Description: - Unit Secretary and Nurse Externs per diem Type of Equipment: - Baxter Pumps - Medfusion Pumps - Medtronic Vital Sync Remote Surveillance System Documentation System: - Meditech Scheduling Requirements: - Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend - Shift work Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday Floating Policy: - Traveler will float to step-down patients Patient Experience Requirements: - 1-3 years preferred Skill Set Required: - Clinical Skills: Head-Toe Assessment - IV placement - Medication administration - Respiratory support - Nasogastric/gastric tube feeding - Lab collection - Use of oxygen therapy devices Advanced Skills Needed: - Chest Tube Maintenance Procedures Performed on Unit: - Blood Transfusion Administration - Nasogastric Tube Placement - IV Placement Dress Code: - Navy Blue Scrubs (pediatric scrub top friendly allowed) Unit Guidelines/Policies: - Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines. Other Notable Features: - Staff tenure ranges from 18 to 28 years. - Burn Designation Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist on the unit. - Availability of ultrasound for PIV placement. - Portable Pulse Ox. - New Patient Whiteboards expected September 2024. - Preference Based Scheduling. - Locked Unit. - Pediatric Security ID Bands. - Dedicated Pediatric Respiratory Therapist.
